Louela Nalzaro

As a single mom trying to raise two children in rural Philippines, Louela Nalzaro first thought the best possibility for income was to leave the country to be a domestic helper. After a short time, however, she found it unbearable to be so far away from her children. So she returned home, not knowing how she would provide for them. This is when Elevita found her. Louela now makes beautiful accessories for Elevita and says, "I was so happy I met someone like you, who change my world and my children in a different way...I never knew I had a hidden talent in craft making!" Now, whenever Louela has resources to spare, she can be found helping the other children in her village, as pictured.
