Collection: Navajo Nation

Charlene Fowler describes herself as “a full blooded Navajo from the Four Corners on the Utah side” near Monument Valley. She was born and raised there all her life. Her mother and late aunt taught her to make turquoise jewelry, and she became skilled through years of experience. Charlene supports her family through her work, and says she tries to keep her prices reasonable so that people can “own jewelry from a Navajo lady.” During the COVID-19 pandemic Charlene’s usual source of income from tourists dried up, and she was very grateful to Elevita for reaching out and helping support her and other women from the Navajo Nation.
